S3-E3 Harlan Roulette

S3-E3 Harlan Roulette

How’s this for a threat? “If you insist upon the track thus far set upon, there will be consequences.” Kentucky bad boy Boyd Crowder, no slouch in the silver-tongued stakes himself, is, despite himself, impressed by the stranger who’s issued this ultimatum after the bank robbery set up by Katherine Hale. But the man is just the sidekick to this final series’ Big Bad, notorious gangster Avery Markham. He’s played by eternal cowboy Sam Elliott with a genuinely unsettling, quiet menace. Boyd and Ava better take care.

It’s an episode packed with all the elements that make Justified so special: dialogue to wallow in, sly humour, characters placed in impossible situations, actions that do, indeed, have consequences. There really is no other show like it.

A hit is ordered on Raylan as he comes up against new foe Robert Quarles. Boyd visits Limehouse in the hope of acquiring the money left behind by Mags Bennett, but he may be forced to hand over the cannabis he inherited if he is to get his hands on the cash. Meanwhile, Dickie has his own plans for his mother's money. Crime drama, starring Timothy Olyphant.
