On Monday Jane Horrocks had us prickling with embarrassment at the story of her stage debut. Sheridan Smith’s explores similar territory. Determined to go to her parents’ gigs (as country act the Daltons), young Sheridan became, age seven, part of the act…

Smith plays her mum, Ralf Little her dad, and Alan Davies puts in a cameo as a failing stand-up. It’s a fond and touching portrait, with lots of laughs.

A six-year-old Sheridan dreams of being a star and sets about getting rid of her babysitter so that she can go with her parents' to their country and western gigs. However, Mrs Ramsbottom is not easily defeated, so the youngster decides to sneak into an amp case and stowaway to one of the concerts. Comedy short, written by Michael Wynne, starring Sheridan Smith, Ralf Little and Annette Badland.
