Little Crackers

Barbara Windsor's Little Cracker

These mini biopics are a nostalgic delight. In My First Brassiere, Barbara Windsor narrates her own 1950s vignette, in which a teenage Babs (perky Samantha White) takes her first, top-heavy steps towards womanhood. Fabulous Sally Hawkins (from Made in Dagenham) plays Mum, and Windsor cameos in a brunette wig. You’ll long for 90 minutes of this.

A young Barbara buys her first bra after a wardrobe mistress embarrasses her by strapping down her chest to make her look 10 years old in the West End Show she is appearing in. At just under 4ft11, the 15-year-old is confused by her developing physique.
