Summary

The bitter rivalry between self-taught paleontologist Edward Drinker Cope and Yale University academic Othniel Charles Marsh. They spied on each other, sabotaged the other's research and wrote competing papers about the same fossil species. From 1877 to 1892, both used their wealth and influence to finance their own fossil-finding expeditions in what became known as the Bone Wars.
