Genghis Khan and his Mongol horsemen cut a swathe through China, the near East and as far as Eastern Europe in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. He died in 1227 and was buried with immense secrecy. The location of his tomb is uncertain, although the Burkhan Khaldun – a mountain range in northern Mongolia – has long been linked to him. So can an enthusiastic young scientist, California-based Albert Yu-Min Lin, actually find it? There are plenty of obstacles in the way as they enter what’s been called a forbidden zone for nigh-on 800 years.

Engineer and explorer Albert Lin goes in search of the Mongol leader's body in a bid to preserve his burial site from the impending menace from plunderers and illegal miners. Using cutting-edge technology and a handful of clues from ancient texts, he heads to the Burkhan Khaldun mountain in the country's carefully guarded forbidden zone, where an amazing discovery awaits him.
