Review

Monty’s sojourn in Connemara is about to end, so he needs to find the acoustic pod that’s been at the bottom of the ocean, recording the comings and goings of sharks and dolphins.

But, oh heavens, where is it? If the pod really has gone for good, that’s €4,500 wasted. So we’re off out to sea again with Monty to try to find the pesky thing. We’ve been to sea an awful lot in Monty Halls’ Great Irish Escape, and pretty much done exactly the same thing every week.

Still, Halls is such an endearing and enthusiastic guide, it’s really too hard to get exercised about repetition. Just enjoy the scenery.

Summary

As his time as a volunteer comes to an end, Monty Halls tries to retrieve an acoustic listening device holding vital data for the project from the seabed. However, when he fails to find the recording equipment, he realises all his hard work during the past six months might have been wasted. Last in the series.
