Sinead Redmond, campaigner for abortion rights, Ireland, and Caroline Simons, pro-life campaigner, Ireland

Summary

On May 25th 2018 Irish voters face a choice - by way of a referendum they can either keep a constitutional amendment which outlaws abortion in all but the most exceptional circumstances, or they can change their constitution and pave the way for the legalisation of abortion. Given Ireland's history, culture and religion, the upcoming referendum has sparked a fierce debate. Stephen Sackur is joined by two campaigners to discuss the issue: Sinead Redmond, an advocate of expanding abortion rights, and opponent Caroline Simons. What does the argument say about Ireland today?
