Summary
Two cities with a dangerous and volatile relationship.
Two cities with a dangerous and volatile relationship.
There’s a recurring motif in this grim fantasy drama, where Borlú (David Morrissey) wakes from a nightmare and his wife Katrynia (Lara Pulver) comes and hovers over him, fresh from her shower – a golden moment he remembers from their time together…
The thing is, the whole claustrophobic story feels like a dream, one we never get to wake up from because it goes round and round, covering the same ground but never resolving into anything more substantial than smoke and mirrors.
Inspector Borlú is still trying – in theory – to solve the murder and find out how his wife disappeared. Did she find Orciny, the fabled third city? Did the dead woman, Mahalia? If you still care, well done.
