Richard Ayoade may drag his celebrity chums round dubious sites on his “travel without mercy” weekends, but they always stay in a stunning hotel. For which read “expensive”. He and comedian Sally Phillips are in Stockholm where their bedrooms for the night cost over two grand each.
But there’s no time to linger, there’s an Abba museum to visit where Sally enthusiastically – and impressively – throws herself into the full Abba karaoke experience. She definitely enjoys her Swedish sojourn more than Richard, although he admits the meatballs are even better than the ones he usually eats “near to some flat-pack furniture”.
Richard Ayoade and actress Sally Phillips head to the Swedish capital for a fulsome two days of fun. Despite having no head for heights, the duo fearlessly sample the city's only rooftop tour, before wrestling with the concept of fika - coffee and cake. The pair also a visit to the museum established in homage to 1970s pop group Abba and attend an interactive late-night art show involving their phones. After all this, there's still time to sample some meatballs, ride on a pedalo and experience the world's first ice bar.
