The undoubted star of this understated piece of escapism is 19-year-old William, who helps his dad John run the splendidly named Bleak Bank Farm near Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales.
He’s cheerful, dry-witted and hard-working and his dad hopes he’ll take over the farm one day. The programme tries to get some sort of will-he-won’t-he drama out of William’s supposed doubts about carrying on the family business. But we know farming is where his heart lies.
In Swaledale, mountain rescuer Pete Roe is called to Tan Hill Inn, Britain's highest pub, where a man has gone missing in freezing overnight temperatures.
