Craft It Yourself

Series 1 - Episode 1

Review

A woven bench. A beaded chandelier. Hand-painted teacups. If these things or the prospect of making them leave you cold, you're likely to fend off this new series on crafting with a poorly whittled bargepole.

But that would be a mistake because having seen it I can tell you that even for the least craft-inclined (myself included), it's oddly absorbing to watch the process of forging your own kitchen knife or tie-dying cushion covers.

All the above are on tonight's to-do list for presenters Clem Green, Ant Anstead and Robin Johnson, plus they have the decency not to conceal the sometimes slightly laborious side of the 'makes' - so their enthusiasm comes across as all the more genuine.

Summary

Clemency Green, Ant Anstead and Robin Johnson offer advice and Ideas for home furnishings and decor. The first episode explores a Cuban theme while reviving an unloved dining room. Clem and Robin make a woven bench, Ant tries his hand at painting tiles while Robin tries his patience when he makes a beaded chandelier.
