Later Live - with Jools Holland

Series 50 - Episode 7

Sheryl Crow and Lorde top the bill, but I'm more excited about Oumou Sangaré. The Malian singer, who fuses traditional African instruments with contemporary production techniques, recently recorded a track with Afrobeat legend Tony Allen and inhabits the same region of the musical map as the late, great Ali Farka Touré.

And Jools joins Jane Birkin for a chat at the piano. On her new album, the star tackles the songs of former beau Serge Gainsbourg, alongside a 90-piece orchestra. Whether she'll be singing isn't clear, so don't hold your (sultry, seductive) breath.

US singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow returns with songs from her ninth studio album, Be Myself. The pianist also welcomes New Zealanders Lorde and Aldous Harding, Mali's Oumou Sangare, east Londoners Pumarosa, and Birmingham-born MC and rap star Stefflon Don. Plus, English emigree Jane Birkin discusses her first album in nine years, in which she performs the songs of Serge Gainsbourg with a 90-piece orchestra.
