Can I Get a Witness?

Series 1 - Episode 8 Can I Get a Witness?

Review

Clayne Crawford does more than enough as trailer-dwelling dropout-cum-cop Martin Riggs to make us forget Mel Gibson in the original films. Here he makes a decent crack at that US cop-show staple – befriending a child witness.

Remember how Horatio Caine used to do this in every third episode of CSI: Miami – crouching on his haunches in front of his little buddy, removing his sunglasses and promising that nothing bad would happen?

Riggs is a touch more convincing at the taking-under-the-wing thing, as a boy who witnessed a casino heist gets a dose of Riggs-style parenting via tactical use of cheese puffs, Creedence Clearwater Revival and being called “little man” a lot.

Summary

When a million dollar casino heist takes a deadly turn, Riggs befriends the only credible witness - an eight-year-old boy - and takes him into his care. He also contemplates what to do with the money he received from selling his home in Texas. Elsewhere, Murtaugh pulls some dangerous stunts in an attempt to prove to everyone that he can be a `motorcycle guy'. Action drama based on the film series, starring Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans.
