We Have Been Watching

Series 1 - Episode 3

There’s a little sadness in this edition, with David Bowie’s guest appearance on Ricky Gervais’s Extras, and Corbett and Barker dovetailing as only they could on what Richard Herring ruefully calls The No Ronnies. A smidge of seriousness, too, with a discussion about racism v some representation of minorities in the barren TV landscape of the 70s, in relation to Mind Your Language.

But it’s still a delightful watch, with a scattering of fun facts (John Challis stole the voice for Only Fools’ Boycie from someone in a London pub) and unpredictable moments (Nigel Planer tearing up during Outnumbered). Also, the ever-astute David Baddiel entertainingly challenges accepted sitcom wisdom.

Classic clips from Blackadder, Outnumbered, Only Fools and Horses and Extras are watched and discussed by guests including Maxine Peake and Diane Morgan, Craig Charles and Robert Llewellyn, Nigel Planer and Adil Ray, and James Acaster and Nish Kumar.
