I Do At 92

Catch Up

Hopeless romantics prepare to melt, as Chloë Fairweather’s tender film follows three elderly couples preparing to tie the knot after finding love again late in life. Georgina and Ray (94 and 86), Margaret and Victor (81 and 77) and Derek and Carolyn (76 and 70) are not giddy teenagers – they all have experienced sadness or tough times in their lives – and are clear-eyed that they want to savour the delights of love while they still can.

There are dissenting voices from concerned children and grandchildren, but the last word goes to the effervescent Georgina: “Being in love at 94 is just as exciting, as tantalising, as breathtaking.”

Documentary focusing on retired brides and grooms planning their big day while they also tackle the reality of what the future might hold for them. Cameras follow 94-year-old widow Georgina, who is marrying Raymond, an 86-year-old retired chef with terminal cancer. There's also a profile of Margaret, who's 81 and has 11 great, great grandchildren. After turning to the internet to find love, she met Victor, who's 77. She fell for him instantly and, despite her daughters warning her not to, brought him home on the first night.
