Summary

Historian David Olusoga's exploration of the enduring relationship between Britain and people whose origins lie in Africa concludes. This time, he profiles the three African kings who took a stand against the machinations of an empire, along with a crooner whose voice was considered `irresistible'. He also investigates a history of race riots in Liverpool, and outlines how the sense of a `black British' identity has shaped, and been shaped by, various forces throughout the span of the 20th century. Last in the series.
