Summary

Part one of two. Documentary charting life on Britain's most remote inhabited island, which is home to 55 people and situated halfway between mainland Shetland and the Orkneys. A new couple settle in and adapt to island life, and cameras follow a family whose 11-year-old son has to leave home to board at secondary school on mainland Shetland.
