At this point in the competition it seems fairly certain that Danny Mac and Louise Redknapp will be in the final. They’ve been near the top of the leader board since day one, so barring injuries or (inconceivable, this) both being in the bottom two and having to dance off against each other, they’re surely going to get within a heel turn of the glitterball trophy.
Predicting who will be the third finalist is much trickier because the remaining celebrities are of a fairly similar standard. Well, obviously not Ed Balls who, once he got through to Blackpool, some suggested might even win the whole thing.
So departures now will probably be the result of the celebrity having to perform a dance style they’re not comfortable with. However, to help open up the voting
Strictly Come Dancing
has introduced a new element: the Cha Cha Challenge. All six couples must dance a Cha Cha at the same time in the hope of winning extra points from the judges and getting one step closer to the final.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman present as the pro-celebrity dance contest returns to the Elstree studio dance-hall following the big Blackpool Tower extravaganza last weekend. Only half-a-dozen couples remain after Greg and Natalie's elimination, and all 12 competitors will be hoping they can either maintain their standing on the leaderboard, or claw their way back into a safe position as the finale looms ever closer. As ever, the contestants will be called upon to demonstrate their individual routines, but in a first for the annual contest, judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood will also ask them to take part in the Cha Cha Challenge, an energetic new feature for the 2016 competition in which all the stars take to the floor together for a simultaneous performance. At the end of the show, voting lines will be opened to give viewers at home a chance to champion their favourite competitors.
