Catch Up

It’s impressive how Noel Fitzpatrick always keeps a straight face when he calls out the names of the animals brought to his surgery. Names such as Toby Lord Squidge, Rinky-dink and Maisie Muffin make his staff giggle, but not him.

In this edition it’s a whippet called Wobble. However, it turns out to be an apt name for this rescue dog because she’s unsteady on her feet, possibly as a result of a bad beating when she was younger.

Noel is also operating on Tia, a Bengal cat that has multiple injuries after being hit by a car, and Alfie, a chocolate labrador assistance dog with elbow dysplasia.

A Bengal cat called Tia is rushed in to Fitzpatrick Referrals after being hit by a car. Noel Fitzpatrick faces the painstakingly difficult task of reconstructing Tia's tiny bones using a combination of rods and pins. Whippet Wobble, a rescue dog, is so badly injured that Noel has no choice but to perform a high-risk operation, and Alfie, a labrador care-dog, arrives at the surgery in need of help with elbow dysplasia.
