Humans

Series 2 - Episode 4

Review

Some of the best lines in Humans come when synths try to put their novel experience of emotions into words. Tonight the relationship between Mia (Gemma Chan) and dishy café owner Ed (Sam Palladio) goes up a gear and in bed he asks her how she finds sex. “I like the proximity,” she says drily – not gushing praise, but a fair summary.

Romance is a theme: teenager Toby invites home Renie, the school friend who pretends to be a synth because it’s fashionable. And Niska comes face-to-face with the girlfriend she abandoned in Berlin.

Summary

Mia and Ed grow closer, but find themselves in danger when their secret is discovered. The outcome of the trial looks bleak for Niska, until Laura calls a surprise witness. Hester's influence on Leo stirs up tension in his relationship with Max, while Milo challenges Athena about her secret agenda. Toby offends Renie, while Karen and Pete delve deeper into the mysterious seraphim investigation.
