It’s all down to personal preference but “beetroot”, “cottage cheese” and “hummus” are four words I never want to see in the same sentence, let alone on the same plate.

But Jamie Oliver mashes them all together for a breakfast dish before he zips off to the South Korean island of Jeju, which, at the last count, had 215 centenarians in its tiny population. Oliver talks to a 117-year-old lady who puts her longevity down to growing and eating her own vegetables.

Then he’s in Switzerland, serving barley soup to a group of wild swimmers before returning home to whip up a beef and stout stew. Yum.

Summary

Then, in the mountains of Switzerland, he goes looking for healthy grains.
