“Stupid game!” wails Lee Mack at the top of his voice. He has just been reduced to riding a child’s pink bicycle around the studio in defence of a story about running out of petrol. Everyone knows it’s one of those stunts where the production team lands him with a daft lie to defend, and he barely tries. But that doesn’t matter, because it’s one of several points tonight where the show slips its moorings and takes off into the further reaches of hilarity.
Lee and David Mitchell have each other in hysterics over the phrase “an unusual game of pass the parcel”; Rob Brydon imagines a potential line of incontinence products; and Harry Shearer, voice of Mr Burns, says “Excellent”.
David Mitchell and Lee Mack are joined by radio presenter Sara Cox, comedian Jason Manford, journalist Nick Robinson and actor Harry Shearer, who aim to help the team captains deceive their opponents with plausible lies. Hosted by Rob Brydon.
