Scotland’s political landscape has seen sweeping changes in the past few years. Here to size up that transformation and how it will reverberate across the rest of the UK, is Andrew Marr. Over a two-part series, he explores each stage of the drama: the 2014 Scottish referendum, the triumph of the SNP in last year’s general election, and how this year’s Brexit vote affects Scotland’s future.

One possible effect could be a second referendum on independence, as SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has already suggested. She is among Marr’s interviewees here, alongside political heavyweights such as Tony Blair, Alistair Darling and Alex Salmond, and academics Prof John Curtice and Sir Tom Devine.

Andrew Marr presents a two-part programme exploring the transformation of Scottish politics in recent years. The first programme looks back over the shift in power that has occurred since the 1950s, with the Unionists losing ground to Labour, who have ultimately given way to the SNP. With contributions from leading political figures including Nicola Sturgeon, Alex Salmond and Tony Blair.
