Review

After the headline-grabbing stint on I’m A Celebrity comes, inevitably, the reality doc about life back in Blighty: in fact Lady Colin Campbell’s confrontational appearance in the jungle was undertaken to help fund the project we follow here, the restoration of Castle Goring near Worthing. It sticks closely to the format of the aristocratic home-renovation show, with Lady C implementing eccentric ideas to a made-up deadline – the house simply must be ready for its grand opening as a wedding venue in a few weeks’ time! – while chirpy, dainty classical music plays sarcastically on the soundtrack and Miriam Margolyes enjoys every syllable of the voiceover.

Lady C is undeniably amusing, particularly when she loses her temper over an issue with cling film, or cracks dirty jokes in front of her mortified son.
