Review

Blake is a lovely, bouncy pup but cataracts mean he can’t see very well, so the staff at Battersea reckon he needs his own guide dog to help him move around. “I’d suggest my Eddie,” says Paul O’Grady, “but he’s evil. He’d lead him into a pond!” Luckily Blake’s new best friend is a labrador called Barney and he’s much kinder.

Also on Paul’s visiting list is Forest, a handsome young saluki that’s bored stiff because he’s been quarantined for ages with a nasty infection and Jacko, a very dejected-looking terrier that needs something to snap him out of his depression.

Summary

The comedian meets three dogs in need of companionship. First up is excitable 10-month-old mongrel Blake, who loves playing with his toys - but when Paul suspects his eyesight is not as it should be and the vets confirm his fears, the presenter is given the challenge of finding the canine a suitable friend to act as his very own guide dog. Paul also meets Jacko the Jack Russell, who has been down in the dumps ever since arriving at Battersea, and 14-week-old Saluki Forest, who is in quarantine due to a stomach bug. Paul tries to come up with a way of keeping the puppy entertained - but with no physical contact allowed, that proves easier said than done.
