Dave Myers and Si King are at their most playful/irritating depending upon your point of view as they hit the road to discover why Britons are so besotted with poultry.

Apparently we eat 1.3 billion chickens and 120 billion eggs a year, which paves the way for a torrent of egg-related puns from the Bikers as they banter their way around Britain.

As ever there’s a spot of al fresco cooking, at the Roman settlement of Vindolanda in Northumberland, and a country show in Wales, where the pair make Welsh rarebit. They smarten up a bit for their final stop at a swanky London hotel, eating Michelin-starred chicken soup.

Summary

The duo set out on a new culinary mission, biking across Europe, the Middle East and America to find and cook the most delicious chicken and egg recipes in the world. They start out on home turf, where they demonstrate how to ensure the perfect roast chicken every time, find out how chickens first came to the UK and make cakes and Welsh rarebit at a country show in Wales.
