Series 13 - Episode 17 Dandies v Beaks

Review

The team of Beaks are against the clock, struggling with the last two groups of the Wall. Faced with a variety of proper names, including Nantucket, that might relate to dog breeds, cheeses or something else altogether, one of them mutters desperately, “There once was a girl from Nantucket…” and it threatens to descend into farce. It’s that sort of episode, full of good-natured, tough-as-nails quizzing with the odd laugh (Victoria Coren Mitchell’s closing monologue is a peach).

If, like me, you end up shouting at the screen “Ford Consul! Ford Consul!” at one point, calm yourself, because the Dandies have clearly forgotten such a car existed, which may be for the best.

Summary

Victoria Coren Mitchell presents as the Dandies and Beaks return for this round two game of the quiz testing general knowledge and lateral thinking. Among the challenges facing the players is to determine what connects Something's Got to Give, The Athenaeum Portrait, The Last Tycoon and Schubert's Symphony No 8.
