Review

This new documentary takes a look back at the highs and lows of 2017 music, though as ever it’s hard to say exactly how the 12-month period will be remembered in posterity.

Maybe it’ll be the year Taylor Swift’s first album since 2014’s 1989 was released, the year the One Direction boys struck out on their own or the year that Adele’s Hello controversially won an album of the year Grammy over Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed Lemonade.

And though there weren’t nearly as many tragic losses to music this year as in 2016, maybe we’ll remember the leading lights from previous ages of modern music that were snuffed out, from Chuck Berry and Glen Campbell to Tom Petty. Only time will tell.
