There was a definite fear earlier this year that Max Branning had reached the point of no return. Traditionally a liar and a love cheat, Max morphed into a borderline killer during 2017 when he abandoned Jane to her fate in a burning building. In the end, Jane survived, but fans were left worried that the character of Max could never recover, having now become a full-on villain. Well,
has obviously now had a bit of a rethink, with the rehabilitation of Max beginning in earnest this week. At the moment, he’s been unmasked and ostracised – but what’s the betting he’s earned our sympathies again by Christmas?
Tensions are high for the Branning family as Jack encourages Max to build bridges with his daughters. But it seems Lauren and Abi may not be so keen to put the past behind them.
