The candidates in this series have been known to spout the odd bit of hot air. But now they stumble, at Lord Sugar’s behest, into the world of high fashion, where the wafty hokum is on a whole new level. One designer explains, when asked about her clothes, “This was inspired by post-apocalyptic regal rock ’n’ roll.” Or you could describe them as billowy and mad, like clouds made of tinfoil.
But Graphene and Vitality must market the collections as best they can, which means creating a magazine cover – something they scramble together in five minutes at the end of the day, naturally – and what one candidate likes to call “catwalking”.
Lord Sugar tasks the remaining contestants to become fashion agents, and sell a range of garments from up and coming designers. The teams have to select a designer, then plan and organise a catwalk show, as well as put together a magazine cover to amplify their sales campaign. Bad negotiations leave one team exposed, while the other team's magazine pitch does not go down well.
