Review

The glorious five-year-olds are back together after two weeks apart, and they’ve got some new playmates changing the dynamics. Arthur is rather taken with newcomer Sienna –and he’s not messing around. “You have to kiss on the lips to get married,” he explains stoically. And the Tigger-like Alfie is once again telling Emily he loves her.

But as well as romance, there are also lessons in rejection. Love-struck Alfie is hurt when a playmate tells him that his artwork isn’t up to scratch, and George is upset by the children’s reaction to his family recipe for “Essex Noodles”. Another hilarious and moving episode about children realising how wonderfully strange humans really are.

Summary

Cameras follow the youngsters' development after two weeks apart and time has made the heart grow fonder for Alfie and Emily, who are clearly happy to be back together. And although Alfie struggled to empathise with the rest of his peers before, a painting competition proves to be a turning point for him. George takes the children's rejection of his family recipe to heart, but goes on to triumph elsewhere, and romance is in the air when newcomer Sienna captures Arthur's heart.
