Review

In December 1988 Pan Am flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie in the Borders. Among the 270 victims was a 25-year-old American, David Dornstein. His film-maker brother Ken refuses to accept that the only man ever convicted, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, was solely responsible.

In the first part of a three-part investigation, and taking the collapse of the Gaddafi regime as a cue, in 2011 Dornstein travels to a chaotic Tripoli to track down a group of men linked to the case. He’s doggedly polite but determined; like in any good journalistic drama, clues leak out, and there’s a cliffhanger. Could he be on to something?
