Elephant in the Bedroom

Series 1 - Episode 1 Elephant in the Bedroom

Review

Saba Douglas-Hamilton and her husband Frank are in business. While Frank works to protect elephants from poachers in Kenya's Samburu National Reserve, Saba is setting up a “safari camp” for adventurous tourists who want the sort of high-end glamping holiday where crocodiles and elephants stroll past your tent flap.

The first episode of the series is pretty sedate, with problems including an errant catering delivery and monkeys stealing the guests' complimentary biscuits – until Frank and a team of vets head out into the wilderness to attach a tracking device to an elephant. Saba has the job of parking a jeep between the patient and the rest of the herd, and hoping the animals don't get spooked.
