Spy in the Sky

Spy in the Sky

In 1960, pilot Francis `Gary' Powers' U-2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union. The plane had been used to provide a high-tech peek behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, and was recovered by the Soviets virtually in tact. This documentary details how Powers survived the incident and also looks at the race to build a plane capable of flying at 70,000ft for 10 hours.
