Review

Lord Grantham himself, Hugh Bonneville, strolls into Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty’s pop-up restaurant in Southend, ready to cook the entire clientele a pad Thai – and has help to re-create his dream dish. After Bonneville tells Oliver and Doherty about a shack he ate in during filming in Thailand years ago, Oliver’s team track down the shack and secure the recipe.

So after being given some advice on his “tossing action” as he makes the stir fry, he’s on his own, as Oliver shows us how to make pork shoulder cooked overnight and the ingenious Doherty knocks together a barbeque smoker from old junk. It looks like a Professor Branestawm invention, but it works like a dream.

Summary

Actor Hugh Bonneville joins Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty to relive his Far Eastern travels and treats the cafe diners to an authentic pad thai. Jamie makes the ultimate roast with his overnight shoulder of pork, while Jimmy builds a smoker to create a barbecue brisket, and the two unite to prepare a feast when they take on the sell-by label adherence that leads to thousands of tons of food being binned.
