Even for Channel 4, the question “what other willies are you drawn to?” is a tiny bit surprising. Though possibly not as surprising as “what kind of vaginas do you like?”
But that’s modern dating for you, or rather, it is according to this very strange new show, where, in the first episode, women looking for love take their pick of naked men (and women – again, this is Channel 4).
The two hopefuls are faced by their prospective dates, who are naked inside frosted-glass boxes. Bit by bit, they’re revealed in all their glory, broken down to component parts before they stand there like prizes on Sale of the Century. It’s objectifying and remorselessly unerotic.
Dating show hosted by Anna Richardson in which two singletons choose a date from a selection of six naked people, who are revealed to them one body part at a time. They then they whittle the candidates down until only one remains. In the first edition, Aina, a music producer from London, wants to find someone adventurous who she can have a deeper connection with, while Guildford-based designer Mal - who has dated men and women - is curious to see who she will be drawn to when all options are laid bare before her.
