The relationship between Gail and her sons has always made my flesh crawl. With Nick she’s almost too close, as though he ought to be one of her many ill-fated husbands. David, of course, has that love/hate thing going on, but even he can be fiercely protective of his mum. When he’s not pushing her down the stairs or wreaking some horrible revenge, that is.
Now both Nick and David are standing united against the latest man in Gail’s life – petty thief Michael (played by Les Dennis). But why are they objecting? Compared with the mix of drug addicts and mass murderers to whom Gail usually finds herself attracted, Michael’s a paragon of virtue.
Hour-long episode. David returns home to find Michael there, and after ordering him to get out, he and Kylie visit the jailbird at work and tell his boss that he burgled their house. Maria returns to the Street and agrees to let Marcus continue seeing Liam, before bracing herself to apologise to Fiz, but will she ever be forgiven? Leanne explains to Simon that she and Kal are now an item, while Izzy makes excuses to worm her way out of spending the evening with Gary. Elsewhere, Todd is sacked from Street Cars after Steve finds out he skived.
