Glastonbury 2014

Gosh, where to begin? At least armchair festival-goers needn’t slog from stage to stage, often sloshing through thigh-deep mud. BBC2's coverage will include highlights of the day's best performances, and, of course, live footage of the headliners. Here Metallica top the bill, the first metal band to play the headliner slot in 32 years, prompting raised eyebrows in the indie community. Also on the line-up: Welsh giants Manic Street Preachers, veteran rockers Pixies and synth-pop duo MGMT.

Jo Whiley, Mark Radcliffe, Lauren Laverne and Huw Stephens present live coverage of one of the most talked about headline acts ever to grace Worthy Farm as American metal superstars Metallica take their place on the Pyramid stage. There are also highlights of performances from the second full day at Glastonbury, including music by Pixies, MGMT, John Grant and Manic Street Preachers, as well some bespoke acoustic moments and a peek at the late-night shenanigans that go on around the massive site under the cover of darkness.
