From the people who brought us Inside Claridge’s, here’s another delightfully sparkling confection, a slab of wish fulfilment/escapism/possibly envy; diamonds and emeralds, lots and lots of them.
Boodles is the highest of high-end jewellers, a family-run firm with a flagship shop on Bond Street in London. That’s about all there is to it, really, as Inside Boodles is nothing more than a chance to paddle in someone else’s opulence. The Wainwright family who run the business are completely charming and youngster Jody is the gems expert. He buys some outrageously expensive emeralds and we see them being fashioned into a necklace. Call me shallow, but it’s hard not to sigh with joy.
Documentary following one of Britain's most exclusive jewellers, Boodles. The family-run business, founded more than 200 years ago, prepares to launch its most expensive collection yet - Greenfire, created from a set of rare Colombian emeralds. The firm attracts celebrity clients and super-wealthy diamond connoisseurs, who often showcase their fineries on the red carpet and at high-society balls. Company director Jody Wainwright tries to make a success of the ambitious project and plans a glamorous party in Monaco to help attract the glitterati's custom.
