Review

Back to remind us that covert surveillance is just a bit of harmless fun, this knockabout lifestyle show sinks its talons into two female office colleagues who just can't lose weight. Despite their healthy diets and dedicated fitness regimes, neither seem capable of shedding the excess pounds. So where are they going wrong?

This baffling mystery is placed in the hands of a pair of private investigators, who monitor the women around the clock using hidden cameras and tracking devices. As always, it all feels rather daft and dubious. The bombastic execution doesn't help: it's like being harangued by a noisy pie.

Summary

Anna Richardson puts more overweight participants under 24-hour surveillance to scrutinise their eating habits. Colleagues and lifelong friends Faye and Laura have been working hard at the gym and are baffled by their inability to shed the pounds, so cameras are set up to capture their every mouthful. There's also a visit to a London food market, and neuropsychologist David Lewis examines whether lack of sleep makes people consume more calories the following day.
