Inside MI5: The Real Spooks

The history of the domestic security service, based on the book Defence of the Realm by historian Christopher Andrew, who was given unprecedented access to MI5's top-secret files. The film includes interviews with a past director-general of the agency and a former head of the Met's anti-terrorism branch, and investigates the alleged plot against Harold Wilson. It also reviews allegations that one-time MI5 boss Roger Hollis and trade union leader Jack Jones were Soviet agents and that the killing of three IRA terrorists in Gibraltar was evidence of a shoot-to-kill policy by the organisation.
