Review

There are three very relieved people at the end of the opening episode of this new series, all victims of catastrophic medical emergencies who have been brought back from the brink by the extraordinary skills of doctors and paramedics. An Hour to Save Your Life concentrates on the crucial so-called "golden hour" after an accident or trauma when medical intervention can make a dramatic difference to recovery chances.

We follow teams as they work on a young woman who suffers a cardiac arrest in London’s busiest shopping street, a farmer crushed by a cow and a man with terrible injuries after he’s hit by a car. The sight of his broken legs lying at unnatural angles will make you wince as he bellows in agony.
