Graham Bell and Ed Leigh arrive in the popular Swiss resort Wengen. One of Wengen’s top attractions is the famous mountain Lauberhorn, where the men’s downhill in the Ski World Cup took place yesterday. This race attracts the world’s fastest skiers, and last year two contenders stood strong among the competition: Italian Christof Innerhofer, who took home the title, and Frenchman Johan Clarey, who broke the world record by becoming the first skier to exceed 100mph in a World Cup race. With good conditions, this will be another memorable contest.
Graham Bell and Ed Leigh are your hosts, with Leigh also profiling the skier and BASE jumper Shane McConkey, who died in March 2009 while filming a wingsuit stunt.
Graham Bell and Ed Leigh present action from the men's downhill in Wengen, Switzerland, which was won by Italian Christof Innerhofer last year, and saw Frenchman Johan Clarey become the first man to exceed 100mph in a World Cup race. Plus, Ed looks back at the life of skier and BASE jumper Shane McConkey, who died in 2009 while filming a stunt in the Dolomite Mountains in Italy.
