Man the barricades! Quadruple-chasing plutocrats Manchester City have scored five or more goals at home no less than six times this season, and you wouldn't bet against it happening again tonight in an FA Cup third round replay against Blackburn Rovers. The Championship side put in an extraordinary performance a week and a half ago, fully deserving their 1-1 draw and almost nicking an upset when City defender Dedryck Boyata was sent off with ten minutes to play. But surely they've lost their chance now.
Both teams could start with their most celebrated strikers on the bench. Jordan Rhodes was a substitute for Blackburn in the first match and might be again here. Sergio Aguero returns to the City squad after injury, but given the form of Edin Dzeko and particularly the increasingly unplayable Alvaro Negredo, there's no need to rush the Argentinian back.
Hope for Blackburn? Anything can happen in the cup - and City aren't completely unbeaten in their 15 home games in 2013/14. They lost to, er, Bayern Munich. Kick-off is at 8.10pm.
Manchester City v Blackburn Rovers (Kick-off 8.10pm). Adrian Chiles presents coverage of this evening's third-round replay at the Etihad Stadium, where the Premier League club will begin as favourites to progress to the fourth round. Despite having to hang on to secure a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park, the Citizens have won every Premier League match in front of their fans this season, so anything other than a home win will be seen as a monumental shock. If a winner cannot be found in the initial 90 minutes, then extra time is guaranteed before the possible drama of a penalty shoot-out. Commentary by Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend. Subsequent programmes are subject to change.
