In the coming weeks there’ll be some familiar faces turning up in Albert Square, including Lacey Turner as Stacey. Today though it’s someone who made her first appearance 20 years ago. (Don’t read on if you don’t want the surprise spoiled.) After Shabnam’s outburst about Carol attending Masood’s mother’s memorial service, Carol has had enough and storms off leaving David and Bianca worrying about where she’s gone. We next see her on an unfamiliar doorstep and who should answer the door but Sonia?

Meanwhile Phil has realised he’s got to prove his commitment to Sharon by telling her the truth about what happened to Carl, but in fact he admits something else too.

It's the day of Masood's mother's memorial, so he and Shabnam call a truce on their disagreement over Carol. But the opinionated daughter is not happy to discover her father has invited his partner to the ceremony, and when Carol finds out about this latest outburst, she decides not to go, breaks it off with Masood and then goes missing. Sharon confronts Phil about the phone, only to realise she will never be able to trust him, while Alfie becomes more desperate as his new business plan doesn't seem to be working out - until someone takes pity on him and buys his entire stock.
