Review

To mark World Aids Day (1 December), a three-part Swedish drama that won awards when it first aired last year. The title is a reprimand from one nurse to another after a chilling opening: a patient with Aids writhes on his deathbed during the epidemic that swept Stockholm in the 1980s. But most of episode one takes place a few, more carefree, years earlier, when we meet two young men learning how to cope in a society that doesn’t accept homosexuality. As we’ve come to expect from Scandinavia, it’s beautifully done.
