Inspire: The Olympic Journey

Apparently, athletes refer to the four-year build-up between Olympic Games as a "quad", and clearly we’re still in the early stages of the quad that will climax in Rio de Janeiro. But that doesn’t mean we can’t start latching on to the human stories of our would-be medallists and their monastic training regimes. (If we get in early, seeing them succeed – or narrowly miss out – in Brazil will prove all the more emotional.)

Hence Gabby Logan hosts the second round-up of long-range preparations, including a look at the high-altitude training of the triathlon team in the Swiss Alps, courtesy of rowing gold medallist Katherine Grainger, and a profile of basketball star Luol Deng, who plays for the NBA’s Chicago Bulls but started his playing career in Brixton.

Gabby Logan visits sports projects on Hackney Marshes, and Olympic rowing gold-medallist Katherine Grainger heads to Switzerland to spend time with the British triathlon team. Plus, Helen Skelton meets slopestyle skier and Sochi 2014 medal prospect James Wood in his hometown of Sheffield, and Matthew Pinsent arrives in Brixton to find out where it all began for Chicago Bulls' basketball star Luol Deng.
