This is a must for anyone who loves the glorious symmetry of Georgian houses, as Caroline Quentin returns for another series of the property and social history show.
Alex and Martin have found the 200-year-old home of their dreams, deep in the Shropshire countryside near Oswestry. It’s Rock Farm, a neglected, cracked and endangered listed building that they fell in love with at first sight. Having bought the house for £228,500, they plan to spend another £172,000 on doing it up, and hope to move in within six months.
But of course there are big, expensive problems along the way. There’s a huge surprise, too, just next door…
Caroline Quentin returns to follow the fortunes of eight more properties being turned from historic ruins into dream homes, beginning with a couple restoring Rock Farm near Oswestry in Shropshire. As the cracked and contorted Georgian building is steadily renovated, an extraordinary discovery adds another 300 years of history to the site and makes it a building of national importance.
