The first episode focuses on how humans survive in marine conditions, and provides an insight into the different techniques used by subsistence whalers in Indonesia, fishermen in northern Spain, Brazil and the Philippines, and the Bajau Laut sea gypsies, whose methods include hunting underwater using spears.
