Review

In theory the more eccentric performers have already been shown the door during the audition room rounds in favour of more serious singing talent but you never know with X Factor. We may still see a flash of Jedward-style madness in the last set of Wembley Arena auditions.

It’s a true test of a singer’s ability to stay calm and perform in front of a massive (but usually encouraging) audience. If they manage to survive that, all they’ve got to do is get through boot camp and excel during the Judges’ Houses round, then they’re through to the live shows where a mere nine million or so people will be watching.

Summary

Having proved themselves in front of the judges, the hopefuls must now perform for an audience of almost 5,000 as the Wembley Arena auditions continue. Expect tears, drama and difficult decisions as the contestants sing for their lives in an attempt to win a place at boot camp and move one step closer to a potentially life-changing record deal. Dermot O'Leary presents.
